182 Att a Court of the right honourable Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c held at Dividing Creek in Somersett County by his Lordships Commissioners and Justices of the peace the third tuesday of June being the sixteenth day of the same month In the Ninth Year of his Said Lordships Dominion &c ann Dom 1724 Present
Proclamation being made in Usuall form and the Sherr of Somersett County being Called to make return of the Pannell of the Orphan Jury which Jurors are as followeth vizt William Turpin, William Lane, Edward Jones, Richard Hudson, Robert Collier, Jacob Cordery John Ackworth, Richard Huffington, Samuell Jackson, Ebenezer Franklin, Thomas Nathaniell Williams, John Miller, Peter Robinson, John Dennis Sen Robert Mills John Murray Sturges Dixson, Underwood Renchor, William Jones Manocan, William Smith, Daniell Maddux Peter Benton Alex.d Maddux Michael Roach who being severall Called appeared & were sworn and Charged and sent out to Consider &c who soon after return into Court and are accordingly discharged Ordered by the Court that the Sherr of Somersett County return a grand Jury Immediatly &c in pursuance to which order the said sherr returns here to the Court the following pannell &c
and present to the Court here Severall Presentmts against Severall Persons being Content that ye Court should amend form altering No manner of Substance in them and against the severall persons presented It's Ordered by the Court that Capias Issue returnable here to Next Court and ordered that ye Grand Jury be discharged and allowed five hundred pounds of tobacco to be paid next Levy Court &c Henry Ballard of Somersett County Gentl: Produceth here in Court his Lordships Commission as one of the Coroners of Somersett County Commission being read is approved of the said Henry Ballard takeing the severall oath appointed by Law &c thereupon the said Henry Ballard took the severall oaths appointed by Law with the Oath of Coroner and subscribed the oath of abjuration and test &c |
