afterwards she should Be thereunto by the said Nathaniel Requested so Much Money as the
same Nathaniell Reasonably Deserved for Transporting & Bring^ing^ her and her servants
and Goods afd from ye Island of Bermuda afd into Somersett County afd the sd Nathaniell
she wou'd well and faithfully pay & Content & the said Nathaniell In fact says that he for ye
said services &c afd Reasonably Deserved and Ought to have Nine pounds Currtt Money of
Maryland of which ye same Eliz afterwards that is to say ye afd Tenth day of June in ye
year afd at ye County afd within ye Jurisdiction ^afd^ Had Notice   and also that whereas the
afd Eliz whilst she was sole ye tenth day of August One thousand seven hundred & twenty
two at Somersett County afd within the afd Jurisdiction was Indebted to the afd Nathaniell ten pounds fourteen
Shillings and six pence Currant mony as afd for divers other services &c as by accot here with in Court
produced may more fully appear and so thereof being Indebted the same Elizabeth whilest she was
Sole that is to say the afd tenth day of August ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty
two at Somersett County afd within the afd Jurisdiction in Consideration thereof upon herselfe assumed
and to the said Nathaniell then and there faithfully promised that she when afterwards she should
be thereunto requested the afd sum of ten pounds fourteen Shillings and six pence Currt mony as
afd to the afd Nathaniel she would well and faithfully Content and pay Nevertheless the afd Elizabeth
whilest she was sole and the afd Joseph and Eliz.a since the Espousalls between them Celebrated
the promise and assumption afd of the afd Elizabeth in form afd made Little Regarding but plotting
and fraudulently Intending the afd Nathaniel in that part Craftilly and Subtilly to defraud and
deceive Neither the afd Elizabeth whilest she was sole nor the afd Joseph and Elizabeth since the
Espousalls between them Celebrated the afd sums of mony or any part thereof to the afd Nathaniel
(altho' the afd Joseph and Elizabeth after the Espousalls Between them Celebrated the tenth day of September
One thousand seven hundred and twenty three at the County afd within the afd Jurisdiction was thereunto
Requested by the same Nathaniel had not paid or in any wise Contented but they the same or any part
to the same Nathaniel hitherto to pay have altogether Refused and still do Refuse whereby the
same Nathaniel says he is the worse and hath damage to the value of thirty pounds Curr.t mony
as afd and thereof he brings this suite &c    Levin Gale P Quer Pledgs Jno Doe Richd Roe
    M.r Joseph Gray & Eliz.a his wife
    To 6½ months dyett & Lodging ye said Eliz.a @ 16/8
    To 6½ months dyett & Lodging of a negro Boy @ 8/4
    To 3 months diet of a negro woman & Child @ 9/
    To a wedding Dinner &
