117 of Joseph Anthony of Caroline County aforesaid that the said Molatto boy William Trusty for whom this certificate is made was free born; I do therefore grant his said application and hereby Certify that he is four feet two inches high or thereabouts was seven years of age the twenty fifth day of September Eighteen hundred and seventeen of a molatto complexion was born in Caroline County and has no notable marks or scars that I have observed In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and (Seal) affixed the public seal of my office this 27.th day of July Anno Domini 1818 Jo Richardson Clerk of Caroline County court State of Maryland Caroline County to wit Whereas application hath been made to me by a molatto boy named Se Witt Clinton Trusty for a certificate of his freedom agreeably to an act of the General assembly of maryland passed at November Session eighteen hundred and five by which said act free negroes & molattoes are permitted to travel out of this state upon their obtention of a certificate of being free born. And whereas also upon the affirmation of Joseph Anthony of Caroline County aforesaid that the said molatto boy De Witt Clinton Trusty for whom this certificate is made was free born. I do therefore grant his said application and hereby certify that he is three feet nine inches high or thereabouts was five years of age the fifteenth day of December eighteen hundred and seventeen of a molatto complexion born in Caroline County and has no notable mark or scar that I have observed In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my (Seale) hand and affixed the public seal of my office this 27th day of July Anno Domini 1818 Jo Richardson Clerk of Caroline County Court |
