80 the public seal of my office this 28th day of August Anno Domini 1833 Cost $1.00 Jo Richardson Clk of Caroline County Court N. B. The negro woman Hannah Chace within named has with her a child two years of age the first day of ^May last past^ with the fingers all burnt off the left hand and a large scar of a burn on the left side of hits face Test Jo Richardson Clk State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas application hath been made to me by a negro woman named Louiza Woolford for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the act of assembly in such case made and provided by which said act free negroe's and mulattoe's are permitted to travel out of this state upon the obtention of a certificate of being free born; and whereas also upon the Oath of John Evitts of Caroline County that the said negro woman named Louiza Woolford for whom this certificate is made was free born I do therefore grant her said application and hereby Certify that from her own account she was twenty two years of age the twenty first day of May last of a brown Complexion born and raised in Caroline County five feet one and three quarter inches high or thereabouts and has a small scar of a burn on her left cheek and no other notable marks or scars that I have observed (Seal) In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and affix the public seal of my office this 29th day of August Anno Domini 1833 Jo Richardson Clk of Cost $1 pd Caroline County Court State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas application hath been made to me by a negro girl named Margaret Ann Hutchens for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the act of Assembly in such case made and provided by which said act free negroe's and mulattoe's are permitted to travel out of this State upon the obtention of a certificate of being free born; And whereas also upon the oath of James K. Saulsbury of Caroline County that the said negro girl named Margaret Ann Hutchens for whom this certificate is made was free born; I do therefore grant her said application and hereby certify that from her own account she was twenty years of age the first |
