275 five feet six Inches high or thereabouts of a black Complexion was born & raised in Caroline County and has a large scar on the breast left breast caused by the breaking of the Collar bone and a small one just over the right Corner of the left eye and has no other notable marks or scars that I have observed In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my (seal) name and affix the seal of Caroline County Court this 26th Day of August A. D. 1851 James H Fountain Clk State of Maryland Caroline County to wit Whereas a certain John K Harper heretofore to wit on the 15th day of February 1850 by deed of Manumission duly executed and recorded among the Land Record books of Caroline County did manumit and set free a certain negro woman named Harriet Turner to be free on the 9th day of October 1845 and the said Harriet Turner (now calling herself Harriet Scribner) having made application to me for a certificate of her freedom in such case made and provided * I do therefore grant her said application and hereby Certify that from the said Manumission she is now about thirty two years of age five feet & one half inch high or thereabouts of a black Complexion was born and raised in Caroline County and has a scar near the left corner of the left eye and has no other notable marks or scars that I have observed In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and affix (seal) the seal of Caroline County Court this 26th day of August A.
