200 last past five feet eleven inches high or thereabouts of a dark Mulatto Complexion was born and raised in Caroline County aforesaid and has a small scar on the fore finger of his right hand near the first joint and has no other notable Marks or scars that I have observed ( seal of ) In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe My name and (Caroline County) affix the seal of Caroline County Court this twenty second ( Court ) day of september Anno Domini 1845 James H. Fountain Clk of Caroline County Court State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas application hath been made to me by a negro woman named Milly Farmer for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the acts of assembly in such Case made and provided by which said acts free negroe's and mulattoe's are permitted to travel out of this state upon the obtention of a certificate of being free born; And whereas also upon the oath of Joshua Clarke of Caroline County aforesaid that the said negro woman named Milly Farmer for whom this certificate is made was free born; I do therefore grant her said application and hereby certify that from her own account she is now about fifty years of age four feet eleven and three quarter inches high or thereabouts was born and raised in Caroline County and of a Chesnut Complexion and has no notable marks or scars that I have observed (seal) In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and affix the seal of Caroline County Court this 6th day of October Anno Domini 1845 James H.
