198 no other notable marks or scars that I have observed (seal of Caroline) In Testimony Whereof I hereunto subscribe at ( County Court ) my name and affix the seal of Caroline County Court this 26.th day of August Anno Domini 1845 James H Fountain Clerk of Caroline County Court State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas application hath been made to me by a negro man named Robert Casson for a certificate of his freedom agreeably to the act of Assembly in such case made and provided by which said acts free negroes and mulatto's are permitted to travel out of this State upon the obtention of a Certificate of being free born and whereas also upon the Oath of John Nicols of Caroline County aforesaid that the said negro man named Robert Casson for whom this Certificate is made was free born. I do therefore grant his said application and hereby Certify that from his own account he is now about Thirty years of age five feet ten and one half inches high or thereabouts of a mulatto Complexion was born and raised in Caroline County aforesaid and has a scar on the fore finger of his left hand and has no other notable marks or scars that I have observed (seal of Caroline) In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe ( County Court ) my name and affix the seal of Caroline County Court this 26.th day of August Anno Domini 1845 James H.
