of her freedom agreeably to the acts of assembly in such case made and provided
and whereas also upon the oath of Robert Bishop of Caroline County aforesaid
that the said mulatto woman named Dolly Miers for whom this certificate is
made is the same person mentioned in the said manumission; I do therefore
grant her said application and hereby certify that from her age as expressed
in the said manumission she was then about twenty eight years
of age five feet two and one fourth inches high or thereabouts was
born and raised in Queen Anns County and of a mulatto complexion
and has no notable marks or scars that I have observed
(seal)         In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and
                 affix the public seal of my office this 18th day of
                 December 1843               Jo Richardson  Clk of
                                                             Caroline County Court
                         Cost $1.00


State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas application hath
been made to me by a negro woman named sarah Ann Green for a certificate
of her freedom agreeably to the acts of assembly in such
case made and provided by which said acts free negroes and mulattoes
are permitted to travil out of this state upon the obtention of a certificate
of being free born:  And whereas also upon the oath of William
A Barwick of Caroline county aforesaid that the said negro woman
named Sarah Ann Green for whom this certificate is made was
free born; I do therefore grant her said application and hereby
certify that from his mothers account she was fourteen years of
age some time in July last past five feet three inches high or thereabouts
was born and raised in Caroline County aforesaid and of a black complexion
and has a small scar of a cut on her left cheek and has
no other notable marks or scars that I have observed
(seal)    In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribed my name
             and affix the public seal of my office this 2nd day of January
             A D 1844 Jo Richardson Clk of Caroline County Court
      Cost $1.00
