free negroes and mulattoe's are permitted to travel out of this State upon the
obtention of a Certificate of being free born; And Whereas also upon the affirmation
of Samuel Dunning of Caroline County aforesaid that the said negro
woman named Lydia Goldsborough for whom this Certificate is made was
free born; I do therefore grant her said application and hereby Certify that
from the account of Samuel Dunning she is now about twenty five years
of age five feet three inches high or thereabouts was born and raised in Caroline
County aforesaid and of ^a^ Brown Complexion and has two small scars of
buns on the middle finger of her Right hand and near the second joint and
has no other notable mark or scar that I have observed
(seal)              In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and affix
                      the public seal of my office this fourteenth day of september

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit  Whereas application hath been made
to me by a Mulatto Girl named Mary Ann Wisher for a certificate of her freedom agreeably
to the acts of Assembly in such Case made and provided by which ^said^ acts free negroes
and mulattoe's are permitted to travel out of this state upon the obtention of a certificate
of being free born; And Whereas also upon the oath of Mary Ann Ozmon
of Kent County that the said mulatto Girl named Mary Ann Wisher for whom this
Certificate is made was free born; I do therefore grant her said application and
hereby Certify that from her own account she was twenty years of age some time in
April last past five feet two and three quarter inches high or thereabouts was born
and Raised in Caroline County and of a mulatto Complexion and has a small
scar of a cut across the joint of her left wrist and has no other marks or scars that
I have observed;               In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and
(seal)                                affix the public seal of my office this 26th day of september

a certificate of his freedom agreeably to the acts of assembly in such
