State of maryland Caroline County to wit   Whereas heretofore to wit on the Twenty fifth
day of September in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and ninety eight a certain
David Sisk of Caroline County by Deed of Manumission duly executed acknowledged
and recorded among the land records of Caroline Bounty did manumit
and set free a certain negro man ^named^ Isaac to be free on the first day of January Eighteen
hundred and Twenty four and the said negro man named Isaac having
made application to me for a certificate of his freedom agreeably to the act of assembly
in such case made and provided and whereas also upon the Oath of William
H Foster of Caroline County that the said negro man named Isaac for
whom this certificate is made is the same person mentioned in the said Manumission
I do therefore grant his said application and hereby certify that he is five
feet ten and a quarter inches high or thereabouts say she was thirty three years of
age the first day of January last was born and raised in Caroline County and of
a black complexion has a small scar of a cut just above the root of his right thumb
nail and no other notable marks or scars that I have observed         In Testimony
(seal)   whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 30th day of

day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty
seven a certain Solomon D Cranor of Caroline County by Deed of manumission
duly executed acknowledged and recorded among the land
records of Caroline County did manumit and set free a certain negro
man named James George to be free from and after the fourth day
of June Eighteen hundred and twenty seven and the said negro man
named James George having made application to me for a certificate of his
freedom agreeably to the act of assembly in such case made and proved
by which said act free negroes and molattoes are permitted to travel out
of this state upon the obtention of a certificate of being free born and
whereas also upon the Oath of Solomon D Cranor of Caroline County
that the said negro man named James George for whom this certificate
is made is the same person mentioned in the said manumission I
do therefore grant his said application and hereby certify that he is
