58 June Court 1718
his Body before this Said Lord Ships Justices of the next Court to be held at our Court in the Town of Chester in Said County to Answer unto William Glanvill of Said County Innholder of a plea of Trespass of the Case And that he have then and there this Writt &c Att which Said next Court viz the Seventeenth day of June Annoque Domini one thousand Seven hundred and eighteen the day of Return of Said Writt Came Simon Wilmer Gent: high Sheriff of Said County and made retunr thereof in these words thereon Endorsed as followeth viz Cepi Corpus pr Simon Wilmer Sher and a declaration being filed When Said Writt Issued and a Copy thereof Served therewith According to Act of Assembly in Such Case made was as followeth viz Kent County Sst. John Trew of Kent County Planter Stands attached to Answer unto William Glanvill of Said County Innholder of a Plea of trespass of the Case And Whereupon the aforesd Pltf by Thomas Bowne his Attorney Complaineth for that whereas the aforesd Pltf in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven hundred and fourteen and untill this time at St. Pauls Parish in Kent County within the Jurisdiction of this Court was an approved Innholder and Ordinary Keeper and as Such Sold Voided and delivered to diverse Inhabitants of this Province and other Persons diverse liquors and found and provided other Suitable Accommodations during which Said time fo the Said Pltfs So keeping an Inn or Ordinary viz the twenty fourth day of November in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven hundred and Sixteen at St. Pauls Parish in Kent County within the Jurisdiction of this Court In Consideration that the aforesd Pltf at the Speciall Instance and Request of the aforesd Defendt: had then and there last Said Sold and delivered to the Said Defendt: and to the proper use and Behoofe of the aforesaid Defendt: Diverse liquors and found and provided other Suitable Accommodations in an Account hereto Annexed at the Severall Rates and prices in the Said Account Sett forth in the whole amounting unto the Summ of one pound eleven Shillings & three pence Currant Silver money of Maryland upon himself Assumed and to the Said pltf then and there Last mentioned faithfully promised that he the Said Defendt: the aforesd Summ of one pound Eleven Shillings and three pence Currant Silver money of Maryland to the Said pltf when thereunto required would well and truely pay and Content And that whereas also the aforesd. Deft: afterwards vizt: the aforesaid twenty fourth day of November in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven hundred and Sixteen at St. Pauls Parish in Kent County within the Jurisdiction of this Court In Consideration that the aforesd: pltf at the like Speciall Instance and Request of the aforesd Defendt: had then and there last mentioned Sold and delivered to the aforesd Defendt and to the proper use and Behoofe of the aforesaid Defendt: diverse liquors and found and provided other Suitable Accomodations in an Account hereunto Annexed Specifically Sett forth upon himself Assumed and to the Said pltf then and there last mentioned faithfully promised that he the Said Defendt |
