June Court 1720 523 Charles Hill in Safe Custody So that he have him at the afd provinciall Court to be held as afd: to answere unto the afd. Indictment and untill he Shall be therefrom discharged according to due Course of Lawe Simon Wilmer of Sd County Gentn here present in Court acknowledges himself Indebted to his Lordship the Lord propry of this province his heires & Successors in the Sume of five pounds Sterlg money to be Leveyed on his Goods and Chatles Lands and Tenements Conditionally that if he does not appear at the next provincial Court to be held for the province of Maryland at the City of Annapolis to Give his Evidence on his Lordships behalf against the Sd Charles Hill wherewith he acknowledges himself Content. Mr Gideon Pearce of Sd County haveing been Sworn as high Sheriff before Colll Edward Scott and Mr Lambert Wilmer and his Sheriff’s Commission be= ing produced in Court the Sd Colll Edward Scott and Mr Lambert Wilmer Cer= =tifys that the Sd Gideon Pearce hath taken all the Oaths according to Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided and also the oath of Sheriff. & also that he hath Subscribed the oath of Abjuration and Test. The Sd Gideon Pearce desires that James Wyat and John Rogers may be Sworn as Under Sheriffs to him James Wyat Comes into Court and takes the oath of Allegeance and Supre= : macy as also the oath of Abjuration and the oath of an Under Sheriff & Subscribes the Test and the afd Oath of Abjuration &c. John Rogers Comes into Court and takes the oath of allegeance & Supremacy as also the oath of abjuration and the Oath of an Under Sheriff and Subscribes the Test and the afd. Oath of Abjuration &c. |
