   County were Summoned to answer unto Bennett Lowe of a plea that they
   render him the Sume of one thousand & Eighty four pounds of right Good
   Tobacco Clear from Trash and ground Leaves w^th. Cask to Containe the
   Same of the value of ten pounds Sterling money which they Unjustly de:
   taine &c And whereupon the af^d plt^f by Thomas Bowne his attorney Saith
   that whereas the af^d Def^ts the fifth day of August in the year of our Lord
   Christ one thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen at S^t pauls parish in
   Kent County within the Jurisdiction of this Court by their Certain Bill
   obligatory which they the S^d Def^ts. Sealed with their Seals and as their
   Delivered here into Court brought the date whereof is the Same day and year
   af^d. Bound themselves to pay to the af^d. plt^f. the af^d Summ of one thousand
   and Eighty four pounds of right good Tobacco Clear from Trash and
   Ground Leaves w^th. Cask to Contain the Same of the af^d value of ten
   pounds Sterling money when thereunto they Should be required Yett the
   af^d. Def^ts. altho often required the af^d Summ of one thousand and Eighty
   four pounds of Tobacco to the S^d plt^f they or either of them hath not
   paid But that to him to Render of pay they the S^d Def^ts. and each and every
   of them hitherto hath denyed and Still doe deney and unjustly detaine to
   the Damage of the af^d plt^f twelve pounds of like money af^d. and there:
   upon he brings Suit &c            TBowne p^r Quer^r . Plds Jn^o. Doe

             And the af^d Robert Macay in his proper person Comes and defends
                            when &c
   the force and Injury^ and prays leave to imparle thereunto untill next Court
   and he hath it and the Same day is given the Plt^f also
