406 March Court 1719 tenth day of Janry Anno Domi 1710 Philip Rasin (Son of Philip Rasin late of Sd County^decd) Chooses Thomas Thackston his guardian The Said orphan haveing arrived to the age of fifteen Years or there abouts John Hawrding Servt. to Mr Thomas Bowne on Suspiciõn of felony is Committed to the Custody of the Sherf of Said County untill he Shall be Legally discharged &ca Tho Gideons appointed over Sear of the Roads viz from Poplar Branch to St. Pauls Church from John Fanings Runn to James Harris Esqr and So to the Church and from Colo Hynsons Layne to Ebenezr Blackistons Elizabeth Dwier wife of John Dwier of this County brings a Young Child into Court and haveing not wherewithall to maintaine the Same Saith She must put the Same on the Court that it may be maintained by the County upon which the Court demanded of her if She knew who the Same belongd to Saith that it’s publickly discoursed that Dominick Kenslagh of this County is reputed as the father of the Same it is ordered that what Evides. can be gott that knows any thing about the Same Shall be Sworn generally to answer unto Such questions as Shall be demanded by the Court on that Account on which John Dwier Timothy Hurley and Alce Faning was Sworn And Dominick Kenslagh being present in Court And the Court on mature deliberation adjudges the Said Dominick Kenslagh as reputative father to the afd Child And that he immediately give Security to keep the Same from the County on which Dominick Kenslagh afd acknowledges himselfe Indebted to his Lord Ship his heirs and Successors in the Sume of five Thousand pounds of Tobacco to be Leveyed on his goods and Chattells Lands and Tenements Conditionally that if ^he the Said Dominick Shall not keep and maintaine the afd Child So that no charge may come to the County on that Account wherewith he acknowledges himselfe Content John Dwier and Thomas Tyer of Kent County Planters here present in Court acknowledges themselves indebted to his Ld Ship his heirs & Successors in the Sume of Two Thousand five hundred pounds of Tobacco Leaveyed on their goods & Chattells Lands & Tenements Conditionally That if the afd Dominick Kenslagh Shall not keep and maintaine the Child afd that the Court hath adjudged him the Reputative father and that the Same Child is |
