   Yesterdays minutes Read & approved
   Silvester Garland . | Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent County
                at | the Twenty third day of March in the first year
   Richard Smithers | of his Lord Ships Dominion &ca. That he take

be found in his Bailywick & him Safe keep So
   that he have his body before his Said Lordships Justices of the next Court to
   be held at our Court house in the Town of Chester in Said County to answer
   unto Silvester Garland of a plea of Trespass on the Case And that he have
   then & there the Said writ &ca. Att which Said next Court vizt the Eighteenth
   day of June Anno Domini One Thousand Seven hundred and Seven:
  :teen the day of return of Said writ Came William Frisby Gent~. high~
   Sherf of Said County and made return thereof in these words thereon—
   Endorsed as folls vizt. Cepi Corpus pr Wm Ffrisby Sherf.
    And the afd Deft by John Roberts his attry appeared to the above Accõn
   and prayd liberty thereof to imparle thereto and to Answer at next Court which
   was granted the Same day was given the plt~. also —
     Att which Said next Court vizt. the Twentieth day of August the Same Year
   last mentioned came the Said Plt. by his Said attrs. vizt.
   Kent County Ss Richard Smithers of Kent County Gent was attached to Answer
   Silvester Garland of a plea of Trespass on the Case   And Whereupon the afd
   Plt. by Thomas Bowne his attry complains that whereas the afd Deft the Sixth
   day of Aprill Anno Domini Seventeen hundred & thirteen at Kent County afd
   within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court in Consideration that the afd Plt at the Special
   Instance and request of the afd Deft~ had then & there Sold and delivered to
   the Said Deft~ to the proper use and behoofe of the afd Deft~ the Goods &
   Merchandizes in an Account hereto Annexed and in Court brought Set forth
   for ye Sum of Eight hundred Sixty & Six pounds of Merchantable Tobacco
                                                                                                                 upon
