   108                                 August Court 1718
   which Said next Court viz^t. the Nineteenth day of August the Same
   year last mentioned the day of return of Said writ Came Simon Wilmer
   Gent high Sherf of Said County and made return thereof in these words
   thereon Endorsed as foll^s viz^t. Cepi Corpus p^r S:Wilmer Sher^f
   Thomas Bowne att^ry for the afd Plt. Saith that as the afd Plt is not
   an Inhabitant within the County Saith that he will be Securety to pay
   Cost for the afd Plt if he Should be Cast in y^e Same which the Court grants
   on which the afd Thomas Bowne acknowledges and Saith that he will
   pay all Cost in the afd Accõn if the Deft Shall appear to the Same and the
   Plt Shall be Cast in the Same and pay it not himselfe
   and the afd Deft being called came And The Said Plt by Thomas —
   Bowne his att^ry prays that the Said Deft. may give Special baile
   to the afd Accõn which was granted and that he be kept in Safe Custody
   by the Sherf of Said County untill he Shall give Speciall baile as afd.
   on which Francis Bellas and John West both of this County comes into Court
   and joyntly and Severally acknowledges themselves as Special baile in the
   afd Accõn and they and either of them do undertake for the afd Deft. the payment
   of the Damages in the Accõn afd & Cost thereon accruing if the Same Deft Shall
   be Cast in the Same And the Condemnation Shall not Satisfie nor himselfe to
   the Custody of the Sherf of Said County deliver or that they the afd Francis —
   Bellas and John West or either of them the body of the afd Deft Shall not
   render &c^a.
   And the Said Deft in his proper person appears to the afd Accõn and prays
   liberty thereof to imparle thereto and to answer at next Court which was —
   granted the Same day was given the Plt.
   Declⁿ being fild in Said Accõn Rule is given to the afd Deft to Plead
   to the afd Accõn thirty days after this Court adjourns otherwise Judgment to be
   renered for want of the Same

William Rock	\|	Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent County

a^t	\|	his Lord Ships Dominion &c^a. That he take John
John Johnson	\|	Johnson of Kent County Merchant if he Should be—
——————		found in his Bailywick and him Safe keep So that he

   have his body before his Said Lord Ships Justices of the next Court to be held at
   our Court house in the Town of Chester in Said County to Answer unto William
   Rock of a plea of Trespass of the Case And that he have then and there the Said
   writ &c^a. Att which Said next Court viz^t. the nineteenth day of August the Same
   yeare last mentioned the day of Return of Said writ came Simon Wilmer Gent
