70 county where the said Henry General the master resides and a Justice of the peace of the county and state aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negroes within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of the general Assembly in such cases made and provided Acknowledged before Jos Nicholson J. P. Anne Arundel county to wit Received this day one dollar for stamp duty on this Instrument agreeably to the act of Assembly of December Session 1846 chap 61 Given under my hand this 8th day of November A. D. 1851 Jos H Nicholson clk Recorded November 8th 1851 cash 64½ cents Paid E d.d To all whom it may concern be it known that I Richard W Gill of the City of Annapolis in Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have released from Slavery liberated Manumitted and Set free and by these presents do hereby release from Slavery liberate Manumit and Set free my negro girl named Cornelia Sims being of the age of Sixteen years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro girl named Cornelia Sims I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my Executors or administrators forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal on this twenty Sixth day of November in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty one |
