218 Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas my slave Henry Strong has enlisted in the service of the United States now in consideration thereof I Francis W Williams of Anne Arundel county State of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said enlistment manumit set free and release the above named Henry Strong from all service due me his freedom to commence from the 24th of June 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 30.th Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the United States Witness my hand and seal this 15th day of Augt 1865 Francis Williams (seal) Witness J Lee Webster R A Griffith William Burton Anne Arundel County State of Maryland 1865 Before me appeared this fifteenth day of August 1865 Francis Williams and acknowledged the above deed of manumission and Release of Service to be his free act and deed U States Int Reve Dorsey Jacob 5c Stamp D J Aug 15th 1865 Recorded 17th day of August 1865 Deed of manumission and release of service Whereas my slave Saml H Ofer has enlisted in the service of the United States now in consideration thereof I Ezra Sheckell of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said enlistment manumit set free and release the above named Saml H Ofer from all service due me his freedom to commence from the the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the |
