215 E Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas my Slave Joseph Johnson has enlisted in the service of the United States Now in Consideration thereof I Henry E Clagett of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment Manumit Set free and release the above named Joseph Johnson from all service due me his freedom to Commence from the 11 of March 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united states Witness My hand and seal this 27 day of June 1865 Witness Mary E Clagett (Seal) Thomas Welch Albert Clagett Anne Arundel County State of Maryland 1865 Before me appeared this day Mary E Clagett and acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission and Release of Service to be his free act and deed Wm R Thompson J P Recorded the 29 day of June 1865 Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas my slave London Gallyhaw has been drafted ^& accepted^ in the service of the United States; now in consideration thereof I William H Tuck of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said draft and service manumit set free and release the above named London Gallyhaw from all service due me his freedom to commence from the 1.st of August 1864 the date of his acceptance as aforesaid in the service of the United States Witness my hand and seal this 26th day of July 1865 Witness Wm R Thompson Will H Tuck (seal) W G Tuck A.
