of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said enlistment
Manumit set free and release the above named William
Thomas from all service due me his freedom to commence from
the 23 march 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid
in the 39 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the
united states          Witness my hand and Seal this 8 day of

5 Cents J H B          Manumission and Release of Service to be
  8 Nov 1864           his free act and deed

Deed of Manumission and Release of Service
             Whereas My slave John Wright has enlisted
in the service of the united states  Now in Consideration
thereof I Horace Ridout of anne arundel County State of
Maryland do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment Manumit
set free and release the above named John Wright from
all service due me his freedom to Commence from the 11 of
March 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the
30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united States
          Witness my hand and Seal this 14 day of Nov 1864
