State of Maryland  Anne arundel County to wit
                      I hereby Certify that on this thirty first
day of October A D Eighteen hundred and Sixty four
before me a Justice of the Peace of the state of maryland
in and for anne arundel County personally appeared
Abram Claude known to me to be the identical
person mentioned in the aforegoing Deed of manumission
and deed acknowledge the same to be his act and deed
          Witness my hand on the day & year aforesaid
                                  Owen M Taylor  J P
Recorded the 31 October 1864


To all whom it may concern be it known that I Elizabeth
C Harwood of anne arundel County in the state of maryland
at the special instance and request of Thomas Johnson have
released from servitude Manumitted and set free and by
these presents do hereby release liberate Manumit and Set
free my negro man the said Thomas Johnson and him
the said negro man Thomas Johnson I do declare to be
henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all
manner of service to me my Executors or administrators forever
In Witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my seal this thirty first day of
October in the year Eighteen hundred and sixty four
Signed sealed and delivered
    in presence of

State of Maryland anne arundel County to wit   On this
U States Internal   thirty first day of October in the year Eighteen
Revenue Stamp    hundred and sixty four before me the subscriber
5 Cents W R T    a Justice of the Peace of the state of maryland
  31 Oct 1864      in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared
