Deed of Manumission and Release of Service
             Whereas My slave Joshua Seroy has enlisted in
the service of the united states   Now in Consideration thereof
I George Wells of anne arundel County State of maryland
do hereby in consideration of said enlistment Manumit
set free and release the above named Joshua Seroy from
all service due me his freedom to Commence from
the 26 day of February 1864 the date of his enlistment
as aforesaid in the 30 Regiment of Colored Troops
in the service of the united states      Witness My hand
and seal this 28 day of april 1864

Revenue Stamp      and acknowledged the above Deed of
5 Cents W R T      Manumission and Release of Service to be his
    28 ap 1864        free act and deed

Recorded the 28 day of april 1864

       Whereas My slave Wallace Steward has enlisted
in the service of the united states now in Consideration thereof
I George Wells of anne arundel County State of Maryland
do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment manumit
Set free and release the above named Wallace Stewart from
all service due me his freedom to Commence from the 27 day
of February 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid
in the 30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of
the united states      Witness My hand and Seal this
