160 in the 30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united states Witness My hand and seal this Nineteenth day of march 1864 Will H Tuck (Seal) Witness Owen M Taylor Justice of the Peace of state of Md in & for anne a County A Randall Anne arundel County State of Maryland 19 march 1864 U States Int Before me appeared this day William H Revenue Stamp Tuck and acknowledged the above Deed 5 Cents O M T of Manumission and Release of Service 19 march 1864 to be his free act and deed Owen M Taylor J P Recorded the 13 april 1864 E Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas my slave Joseph Smith has enlisted in the service of the united states now in consideration thereof I Priscilla Owens of anne arundel County state of maryland do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment Manumit set free and release the above named Joseph Smith from all service due me his freedom to commence from the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united states Witness my hand & seal this fifteenth day of april 1864 Priscilla Owens Witness Wm Shepherd John H Hopkins Anne arundel County State of Maryland 1864 U S Int Revenue Before me appeared this day Priscilla Stamp 5 Cents Owens and acknowledged the above Deed N C 15 apl of Manumission and Release of service 1864 |
