Revenue Stamp    and acknowledged the above Deed of
5 Cents O M T    Manumission and Release of Service to be his
  7 ap 1864          free act and deed

Deed of Manumission and Release of Service
             Whereas My Slave Moses Gordon has enlisted
in the service of the united states  Now in Consideration
thereof I Edwin W Duvall of anne arundel
County State of Maryland do hereby in Consideration
of said enlistment manumit set free and release the
above named                                 from all service
due me his freedom to Commence from the
the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the
                Regiment of Colored Troops in the service
of the united states
    Witness My hand and Seal this Seventh day of
    April 1864
