139 Manumission to be her act Wm Glover Recorded the 26 day of May 1860 I Benjamin W Lusby of Anne arundel County in the state of Maryland do hereby Manumit and set free my negro woman named Kitty a slave for life aged twenty four years on the twelfth day of October last past the said Kittys freedom to Commence on and after the twelfth day of October Eighteen hundred and sixty five Witness my hand and Seal this twenty Ninth day of may Eighteen hundred and Sixty Test Wm Glover Benja W Lusby (seal) Daniel Hart At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne arundel County sct I hereby Certify that on this Twenty Ninth day of may Eighteen hundred and sixty personally appeared before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland in and for said County Benjamin W Lusby and did acknowledge the above Manumission to be his act Wm Glover Recorded the 29 day of may 1860 I John R Rawlings of Anne arundel County and State of maryland do hereby Manumit and set free my negro slave Caesar Hall he being the same negro slave formerly belonging to my Father Henry T Rawlings and the said negro Caesar having been sold for a term of years for the purpose of paying the other heirs and distributees of the said Henry T Rawlings their respective distributive shares of the appraised value of the said negro which having been done and in accordance with the wishes of my |
