92 On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Anne Arundel County ss On the thirteenth day of November Eighteen hundred and Eighteen personally appeared Leonard Scott before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the aforegoing deed of manumission to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and agreeably to the acts of assembly in such cases made and provided Ch.d Acknowledged before me James Hunter Ex.d d.d 3 Recorded the 14th day of November 1818 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Ninian Pinkney of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of two hundred and fifty dollars Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Moses Little being of the age of forty years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said Negro man named Moses Little I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen Ninian Pinkney (seal) (signed) |
