In Testimony whereof the said Isaac Paul mary Paul Vachel Brown and Philip Howard have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written Isaac Paul (seal) Signed Sealed and delivered her in presence of Mary x Paul (seal) Nicholas Worthington of Tho.s mark Samuel Brown Jun.r Vachel Brown (seal) his Philip x Howard (seal) mark On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit: on the 29th day of June one thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for the said County Isaac Paul mary Paul Vachel Brown and Philip Howard parties to the foregoing deed of manumission and respectively acknowledged the same to be their act and deed and the therein named Maria Howard and mary ann Howard to be completely manumitted and free according to the true intent and meaning thereof Ex.d d.d Acknowledged before Nicholas Worthington of Thos paid 4½ Recorded the 3.d day of July 1818 This Indenture Witnesseth that I George Watts of anne arundle County in the State of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of One Cent to me in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of the presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have released from slavery manumitted and set free and by these presents do release from slavery manumit and set free my negro man (Henry) |
