65 of writing and doth acknowledge the same to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof John Cord paid Ex.d d.d 2 Recorded the 20th day of march 1818 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Robert Warfield Sen.r of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Susan being of the age of forty one years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Susan I do declare to be hencefourth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fifth day of march in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Robert Warfield Edward Warfield Senr (seal) Robert Warfield Ju.r on the back of the aforegoing deed was written to wit: Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of one Dollar Current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Robert Warfield Sen.r (seal) Edward Warfield Robert Warfield Jun.r (Anne) |
