In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty seven Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of us Editha Williams (seal) William Camden Jno Tho.s Quynn On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered That on this fifteenth day of November Eighteen hundred and thirty seven personally appears Editha Williams party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland for the said County and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed for the purposes within mentioned paid Acknowledged before Th G Waters 5 Recorded the 15th day of November 1837 To all whom it may Concern Be it known that I Samuel Hanson of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery manumit and set free the following negroes to wit a negro woman named Henny (my wife) being of the age of thirty five years negro margaret aged seven years and negro Henny aged five years children of the above named woman Henny the said |
