according to the act of assembly in such cases
made and provided

3½   Recorded the 19 day of October 1837


          To all whom it doth or may Concern  Be it
known that I Editha Williams of the City of annapolis
in the County of Anne arundel and State of maryland
for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto
moving do hereby release from slavery liberate
manumit and set free from and after the periods
herein after mentioned the following negroes slaves
belonging to me and now in my possession named
George Brown Bill Brown Maria Brown and
Ann Bailey or by whatsoever name or names they or
either or any of them may be known or called the said
slaves being at this time of the following ages to wit
George Brown ten years old to be free from and after the
fifteenth day of November Eighteen hundred and sixty
two Bill Brown three years old to be free from and
after the fifteenth day of November Eighteen hundred and
sixty nine Maria Brown aged sixteen months to be
free from and after the fifteenth day of July Eighteen
hundred and sixty six and all the issue and increase
of the said Maria Brown to be free from and after the
fifteenth day of July Eighteen hundred and sixty six
and Ann Bailey five years old to be free from and after
the fifteenth day of November Eighteen hundred and sixty
two and all the issue and increase of the said Ann
Bailey to be free from and after the fifteenth day of
November Eighteen hundred and sixty two all of the
aforesaid negroes with their future issue and increase
I do declare to be thenceforth that is to say from and
after the respective periods herein before mentioned freed
