539 moving as also in further consideration of five dollars Current money to us in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free our negro woman named Fanny being of the age of years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Fanny we do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to us our Executors or administrators for ever In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty two Signed sealed and delivered Adam Miller (seal) in the presence of John Miller (seal) Gideon white James Hunter (seal) Philip Clayton W.m Parsons (seal) At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit: Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of five dollars current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Adam Miller John Miller James Hunter W.m Parsons Anne Arundel County to wit: On this seventeenth day of May personally appeared Adam Miller John Miller James Hunter and partys to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be their act and deed for the purposes within |
