532 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Eleanor Baldwin of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do at my death release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man Dick being about forty four years of age and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man named Dick I do at my death declare free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude to my heirs executors or administrators for Ever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty ninth day of May one thousand Eight hundred and thirty two her Signed sealed and delivered Eleanor + Baldwin (seal) in presence of S Gambrill Wm H Baldwin On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit: Anne Arundel County to wit: On this 29.th may 1832 personally appears Eleanor Baldwin party to the within Instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said county and acknowledges the within to be her act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro man within named to be at her death manumitted and discharged from all services to any claiming under her and to be free and manumitted at her death according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Acknowledged before S Gambrill 2½ Recorded the 29.th day of May 1832 |
