437 William Harriet Ann Fanny Leonora Emily Andeen respectively mulattoes slaves and children of the said Sall Ennis. And all and several the said slaves and servants as aforesaid I do declare to be hence forth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirtieth day of July Eighteen hundred and twenty nine Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us Thomas F Simmons Lewis Neth (seal) Th G Waters On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered that on this thirtieth day of July Eighteen hundred and twenty nine personally appears Lewis Neth party to the within Instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the slaves and servants within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Acknowledged before Chd Jos Mayo 11¼ Recorded the 30th day of July 1829 This Indenture witnesseth that I John Childs of anne arundel County in the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one Cent to me in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt (whereof) |
