427 named Thomas Case being of the age of seventeen years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro boy named Thomas Case I do hereby declare to be henceforth free manumitted & discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Eighteenth day of June 1829 Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of J S Williams Fre Scott (seal) Francis Menderhall At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date hereof the sum of five dollars it being the full consideration money within mentioned Fre Scott Maryland Anne arundel County to wit On this Eighteenth day of June 1829 before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Maryland for the ^said^ County personally appears Frederick Scott and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro boy within named to be henceforth manumitted & discharged from all service to him or to any claiming under him and to be free & manumitted according to the act of assembly in such case made & provided Chd Acknowledged before J S Williams 3 Recorded the 23rd day of June 1829 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Henry Matthews of anne arundel County in the state of (Maryland) |
