389 Instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be her act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such cases made and provided paid Acknowledged before Gideon White 2¾ Recorded the 28th day of December 1827 To all whom it may Concern Be it Known that I Ann Jackson of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and Considerations me thereunto moving have released from Slavery manumitted and Set free and by these presents do hereby release from Slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Polly Bastan being of the age of Forty years and her daughter named Dan madea Robinson aged about twenty years and able to work and Gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and them the said negroes named Polly Bastan and Dan madea Robinson I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty Eight Signed Sealed and delivered in her the presence of R Welch of Ben Ann X Jackson (seal) James Hunter (mark) On |
