345 April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of William Shipley of Rob (seal) John R Frost Lenoa J Mintin At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On this twenty second day of July 1826 personally appears William Shipley of Rob party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said county and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ch.d Acknowledged before Nathan Shipley 3 Recorded the 15th day of August 1826 Whereas Anna Maria Snowden of Anne Arundel County in the state of Maryland previous to her intermarriage with the subscriber to wit on the second day of November Eighteen hundred & fourteen did set free and release from all claims of servitude sundry negroes in a certain deed of manumission duly recorded in one of the manumission books of Arundel County particularly named at the times therein described And whereas in Consequence of an informality in the execution of the said Deed of manumission the same may not be considered as valid or binding upon me since my intermarriage with the said Anna Maria Now Know all men by these presents that I Joseph R Hopkins for divers good Causes and Considerations me hereunto moving do hereby manumit set free and release from (all) |
