315 she shall arrive at the age of twenty one years and negro William Ross Addison born the sixteenth of April eighteen hundred and twenty five to be free when she shall arrive at the age of twenty five years and the said negro Slaves I do declare from and after the respective periods above mentioned to be thenceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five Test James Hunter Walter Cross (seal) W.m Glover At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered that on this ninth day of May eighteen hundred and twenty five personally appears Walter Cross party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for said county and acknowledges the same to be his act and Deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro Slaves within named to be manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the provisions of the within instrument of writing and according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided paid James Hunter 3½ Recorded the 8th day of May 1825 To all whom it may concern be it known that we Caleb & Richard Davis of Ann Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations of four years servitude to us have released from slavery liberated (manumitted) |
