302 of assembly in such case made and provided Ex.d d.d acknowledged before Richard H Merriken paid J. P. A. A. County Ml.d 3¼ Recorded the 13th day of January 1825 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Edward Warfield of Anne Arundel County in the state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one dollar current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Harculas being of the age of forty four years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man named Harculas I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty five signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Edward Warfield (seal) Lloyd Selby Joseph Cook At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of one dollar current money it being the full consideration money above mentioned Lloyd Selby Edward Warfield (seal) Anne Arundel County to wit On this 15th day of January 1825 personally appears Edward Warfield party to the above instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of (the) |
