28 Eighteen hundred & fifty six; and all & singular the issue of the said female slaves each & every of them at their respective ages of thirty five years and I do by these presents declare the said negro slaves male & female herein before mentioned and all & singular the said issues of the said female slaves to be free manumitted & discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators from and after the several and respective dates periods and ages herein before respectively assigned & prescribed for ever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this Eighteenth day of December in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & sixteen Ch: Carroll of Carrollton (seal) Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of The words "aged about seven years" being first interlined R Welch of Ben Rinaldo Pindell on the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Maryland anne arundel County sc Be it remembered That on this Eighteenth day of December Eighteen hundred & sixteen personally appears Charles Carroll of Carrollton Esquire of anne arundel County party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of the State of maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro slaves male & female & the issue of the female slaves mentioned & described in the said instrument of writing to be free manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him from & after the (several) |
