273 these presents do hereby release manumit and set free from the date hereof my negro man named Tom being forty two years of age and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man named Tom I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude of service to me my executors administrators and assigns forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty Eighth day of January Eighteen hundred and Twenty four signed sealed and delivered in George Stinchcomb (seal) presence of Gideon White John T Richardson At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Rec.d the day and date above mentioned Two Dollars being the full consideration above mentioned Witness Gideon White George Stinchcomb (seal) Anne Arundel County ss.t On this 28th day of January 1824 appeared George Stinchcomb before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and Deed paid Gideon White 2¼ Recorded the 28th day of December 1823 To all whom it may Concern be it known that I Seth Sweetser of Ann Arundel County and State of Maryland for divers good Causes me thereunto moving as also the further Sum of Consideration of five dollars Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery manumit and set free my negro man named Isaac Stewart to be free on the thirteenth day of October of the present year at which time he will be thirty (years) |
