3¼   Recorded the 16th day of april 1821


       This Indenture Witnesseth that I Rezin
H Snowden of anne arundel County in the State of
maryland for and in consideration of the sum of
one dollar to me in hand paid at and before the
ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged have released from
slavery manumitted and set free my negro man
named Nace Williams being under forty five years
of age of a healthy Constitution sound in body and
mind and Capable by labour to procure to him
sufficient food and raiment with other requisite
necessaries of life.  In Testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this
sixteenth day of april in the year of our Lord
one thousand Eight hundred and twenty one
Signed Sealed  and delivered
    in presence of
    Richard P Snowden         Rezin H Snowden  (seal)
    Massam T. G King
    Nicholas Dorsey of Lloyd

          on the back of the aforegoing deed was thus
written to wit:      anne arundel County sss
           Acknowledged before me one of the Justices of
the peace for said County by the within named
Rezin H Snowden as his act and deed this sixteenth
day of april in the year of our Lord one thousand
Eight hundred and twenty one
