177 within mentioned and the negroes within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services at the ages within specified or to any claiming under them according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provid paid Acknowledged before Henry Cord 3 Recorded the 4.th day of January 1821 To all whom it may Concern Be it known That I mary merriken of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and me thereunto moving Do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free three negroes to wit my negroe woman Charity on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and twenty seven my negroe Girl Peggy on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and forty five. Also my negro boy Henry on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and forty nine with all the Children the above named negro woman Charity may henceforth have where the males shall arrive at the full age of thirty years and the females at the full age of twenty Eight years. I do declare the above named negroes at the expiration of the respective times above mentioned to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever.
