Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Lewis Sutton Richard Brown (seal) Abraham Howland on the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of one Dollar it being the full consideration money above mentioned Richard Brown anne arundle County to wit: On this 2d day of June 1820 personally appears Richard Brown party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro boy within named to be thenceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Chd Acknowledged before Lewis Sutton 3 Recorded the 10th day of June 1820 Maryland sc.t To all persons to whom it may concern Be it known That I mary Callahan of the City of annapolis in anne arundel County for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do by these presents release from slavery manumit and set free the following slaves to wit: William Bishop aged about Eighteen years to be free on the fifth day of april in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty three; Horace Bishop aged about twelve years to be free on the Eighteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty nine; Rebecca Bishop aged about twelve years to be free on the Eighteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand (Eight) |
