128 Eight hundred and nineteen Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of Rich.d J Cowman N J Watkins (seal) Nicholas Watkins of Tho On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Anne Arundel County ss. Be it remembered that on this sixth day of October 1819 personally appears Nicholas J Watkins party to the within instrument of writing before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro boy within named to be free liberated manumitted and set free from all services to him or to any claiming under him from and after the time specified in the within manumission ch.d Acknowledged before Nicholas Watkins of Th Ex.d d.d 3 Recorded the 6th day of October 1819 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Provey Cockey of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of the sum of five shillings Current money to me in hand paid do hereby from and after the first day of December which shall arrive after the day of my intermarriage with any person whatsoever release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Green being of the age of twenty four years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man named (Green) |
