117 within mentioned the sum of five dollars Current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Ninian Pinkney Witness Anne Arundel to wit: Be it remembered that on the 7th day of June Eighteen hundred and nineteen personally appears Ninian Pinkney party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro man within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided. Acknowledged before Ch.d R Welch of Ben Ex.d 3½ Recorded the 7th day of June 1819 Know all men by these presents that I Hannah Owings of anne arundel County and State of maryland believing that natural freedom is right of all men do hereby set free and manumit the following negroes and their issue at the respective periods of time and in the manner following to wit negro Isaac aged about forty years to be free in Eighteen months from the date hereof negro Benjamin aged six years the twenty second day of august last to be free when he arrives to the age of twenty five years; negro Rachel aged four years the seventh day of January last to be free when she arrives to the age of sixteen years (I) |
