64 eight hundred and nine signed sealed & delivered in the presence of Tho.s Norris of Tho.s Robert Franklin (seal) Mary Franklin on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Ann arundel county to wit on this tenth day of January 1809 appears Robert Franklin party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland for the said county and acknowledes the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro man within named to be henceforth manumited and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and take free and manumited according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before Joseph Jenifer (seal) Recorded the 3.d Feby 1809 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Sally Ridgely of anne arundel county in the state of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of the sum of one dollar money of the united states to me in hand paid have declared from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Hannah Jones being about the age of thirty eight |
