61 Exd d d To all whom it may concern be it known that I Sarah Davis of ann arundell county in the state of maryland for divers good causes me hereunto moveing as also for the consideration of one shilling current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery manumit and set free my negro woman Grace and her child Harry and all children she the said Grace may hereafter bare she the said negro Grace her said child Harry and ^what^ other children she may have for the term of ten years from the day of the date hereof remaining and being subject and bound to fullfill the terms of a bill of sale and bargain executed by the said Sarah Davis and bearing date the same as these presents to James P. Maynard of the city of annapolis and state afforesaid purposeing and expressing that the said negro Grace was sold to the said James P. Maynard for the term of ten years from the date thereof and that the said child Harry was likewise sold to the said James P. maynard for the space of twenty years from the said date and also purposeing and expressing that all children which the said negro Grace should bare during the said term of ten years should serve the said James P. Maynard until they arrived at the age of twenty one years and none of them any longer after which said terms and periods as afforesaid mentioned the said negro woman Grace being of about the age of twenty four years and able to (work) |
