38 man named Isaac being of the age of thirty years of thereabouts and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man named Isaac I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my heirs executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this twentieth day of June one thousand eight hundred and eight signed sealed & delivered in the presence of us John Kilty Elizabeth Thompson (seal) William Brewer On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit State of maryland city of Anapolis to wit on this 20.th day of June 1808 before the subscriber mayor of the city aforesaid appeared Elizabeth Thompson and acknowledged the above manumission to be manumitted and set free according to the true intent and meaning thereof acknowledged before John Kilty Mayor Recorded 20 June 1808 of the city of annapolis Ex.d To all to whom it may concern be it known that I Debby Ridgely of anne arundel county in the state of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of three hundred dollars current money to me bequeathed by Lucy Dorsey have released |
