347 writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro man within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all servises to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided chd acknowledged before Ex.d d.d James Hunter 3 Recorded the 21.st day of May 1816 This Indenture made this the 25 day of April eighteen hundred and sixteen Between Amelia Gold of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland and Jacob West of the same State and County Witnesseth that for and in consideration of one dollar and other divers good causes thereunto moving hath hereby manumitted liberated and set free from slavery the said Jacob West from and after the date hereof and for the further security and safety of the aforesaid Jacob West that he is manumitted liberated and set free from slavery the said Amelia Gold doth hereby bind herself and her respective heirs against all persons hereafter claiming or to claim and will by these presents warrant and defend.
