341 named Julian on the first day of January one thousand eight hundred and twenty four and her the said Julian I do declare to be then free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 24.th day of February in the year of our Lord 1816 Signed Sealed and delivered Mary Merriken (seal) in presence of Henry Duvall Thomas Meridith On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Anne Arundel County to wit: On this 24th day of February 1816 personally appeares Mary Merriken party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be her act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negroes within named to be then and at the time specified manumitted and discharged from all services to her or to any claiming under her and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d d.d acknowledged before paid James MacKubin Jun.r 3¼ Recorded the 29.th day of March 1816 |
